Heartmorrow

Privacy & local data

Your world stays with you.

Heartmorrow is a single-player, local-first game. Your worlds, characters, conversations, saves, and uploaded art stay on your machine unless you choose an action that sends or shares them.

Stored locally

Your game data

Heartmorrow runs on your computer with a local database and does not require a Heartmorrow account. The public website does not receive your game save, characters, worlds, conversations, art, inventory, or relationship history.

If you connect a local language model, game generation can remain on your own machine as well.

Leaves by choice

Third-party model providers

If you connect a hosted LLM provider, Heartmorrow sends that provider the game content needed to generate a response. Your API key is also sent to the provider’s endpoint for authentication. What that provider retains or uses is governed by its own privacy policy and account settings.

Use a local model if you do not want generation requests to leave your machine.

Shared by choice

World and character exports

Exporting a world or character creates a shareable file on your machine. Heartmorrow does not upload it automatically. It leaves your machine only if you send it, post it, or upload it yourself.

Review an export before sharing it if you placed personal information in character notes, world descriptions, or other authored fields.

This public site

Website requests

This website does not include first-party analytics, advertising, account forms, or tracking cookies. It is served by GitHub Pages, so visiting it sends ordinary web requests to GitHub. It also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which sends a font request to Google.

Those services handle requests under their own policies: GitHub’s Privacy Statement and Google’s Privacy Policy.
